Able to expand child items when filtered in list view

My projects are added from pre-set templates and consist of an assignee to the main project and a bunch of child items (some aasigned, but most remain unassigned).

In the Kanban view, when I filter to view projects for the main assignee only and I set the child items to be visible, they appear as child items under the main project (whether assigned or not).

In the list view, when I filter to view projects for the main assignee only and I set the child items to be visible, they do not appear and I do not have the option to expand the main projects child items. When no filter is set, the expand option to view child items is present.

I would kindly like to put in a request to be able to expand the child items (whether assigned or not) when a filter is set in the list view.
