Clear Formatting Request

Sometimes as I am copying text from a website or another app, it formats that text to have a highlighted background or bold, etc. When that happens, I use the clear format option on the highlighted text.

However, if I am pasting in a section that uses checkboxes/bullets, it also removes the checkbox/bullets, even if I don't have all the text selected for that particular checkmark section.

Is there a possibility that if you don't select all the text that is bulleted/checkboxed that it does not remove the bullet or checkbox? Then if ALL text is selected, it would also remove the bullet/checkbox?
