Creation of a synced copy (from a child item) to another board fails on status

If I create a synced copy (having the work space settings on Copy & Sync), in another board, the item is not visible. If I click on the link to open the item (in the board I copied it to) it is visible, but without a status. It only allows me to =mark it as completed or not.

The application gives an error BTW, but is also copies the item it says.

Only way to get this working is setting the sync option for synced items in the workspace for status to Skip.

Guess this is not what it is supposed to be? Or did I miss something?
