Simplify and visually optimize Kanban board

We are exploring options how to make Kanban board structure simpler on the looks as well as management. One of the options is to change how rows (swimlanes) are displayed and then also remove concept of status groups. Everything will be a status, you can even split status for structural purposes (just like it would be with status groups). See image attached. I wish to collect initial impressions and ideas whether this makes sense.
